Join Megan for a joyful and empowering exploration of belly dance!
Belly dancing is an ancient art with roots in the Middle East, North Africa, and Mediterranean regions that celebrates strength, grace, and connection to your body. In this improvisational style, you’ll learn movements in a lead/follow format that allow a group of dancers to come together and perform as a group, without having to memorize any choreography.
No experience needed. Just come ready to move, smile, and have fun while enjoying uplifting music and a welcoming community!
Friday Night Belly Dance Themes
June 5th
Bump it Up – Focuses on the various types and styles of hip bumps and drops, adding turns and traveling.
July 3rd
Slow it Down – Hip figure 8s, arm isolations, and an emphasis on discovering musical phrasing with slow, flowing movements.
August 7th
BE a Square – Combinations of movements that allow for travel around your dance space.
