ABOUT
Megan weaves the joy of movement and the stillness of yoga into every class, guiding students to let go, connect deeply, and leave feeling a little lighter.
Megan became part of the Live In Joy family in 2014 as an improvisational belly dance instructor. Her love for the art began in 2003, when a friend encouraged her to try a beginner class at a local community center. From that first experience, she was captivated by the improvisational style—the sense of community, the connection between body and mind, and the grounding presence of movement—all of which bring her joy every time the music begins.
Like many, Megan first came to yoga for exercise and stretching, but what made her stay was the endless discovery the practice offers: learning to let go, to be still, to find inner strength, compassion, and connection to everything around her. Each time on the mat brings a new pose to explore, a concept to play with, or a deeper awareness to uncover.
She completed her 200-hour teacher certification in 2016, followed by a 100-hour Ayurvedic Self-Care certification in 2017, and her 300-hour certification in 2018—all at Live In Joy. After a decade as part of the community, Megan proudly became co-owner of the studio in 2024.
In her classes, Megan encourages students to release judgment, quiet the mental chatter, and set aside daily to-do lists- if only for the duration of the class (or perhaps even beyond!) Her intention is to help each person be fully present, connect with the love at their heart center, and leave feeling just a little lighter than when they arrived.
